Hola… Fellow Fans hoping you all having a marvelous Holiday Season! It has been a while since I posted on WendyT Fan Love; real life took over and I just had to live it. I am happy to inform you all that 2015 has been a very interesting year in more ways than one. Family and professional events have consumed most of my time so my blogging at WendyT Fan Love came to a halt.
I have had the opportunity to work with some very interesting people, I have interviewed several artists (Papi Wilo, Luis Jimenez, Santeye) and covered some musical events for my friends at Global Music Magazine. I also have had a fantastic time living my fan life to the max. I had so many beautiful surprises and #marcmiracles it’s difficult to believe and I am the one living those amazing “miracles”. I like to share some of my fan life experiences in 2015 on this labor of #fanlove called WendyT Fan Love with you fellow fans:
February 2015 was all about Marc Anthony three back to back concerts Valentine’s Day weekend, and to my delight two of those days I was seating front row. Now if you have read some of the blogs on this site you all know I am all about my Marc Anthony. I could not believe that my traveling during that cold/snowy weekend that the payoff was going to be so surprising. I was supposed to volunteer for Marc’s foundation (MaestroCares.org) only the first day at Boardwalk Atlantic City, but I ended up volunteering all three days as some people could not make it due to the weather. At the Prudential Center in Newark the second day I could not believe I bought a second row ticket that I turned into a front row ticket. I thought I was going to faint when Marc stood in front of me and waved to me as if he recognized me; I have no idea if he knows I exist but I will take whatever he wants to give me. On the third day at Nassau Coliseum I had a front row ticket too; I was in heaven. While he was singing “Hubo Alguien” I was videotaping him and he stood right in front of me and gave me one of the best gifts a fan can possibly have, he stood right in front of the camera and stopped when he said the “P” word (curse word in Spanish) and I have it recorded!!! I started to cry from the emotion of it all; like he knew what that would mean to me. It was all beautiful and crazy at the same time; please watch it below.
In 2015 I have seen Marc in concert eight times as I saw him again on October in Brooklyn, Boston, DC/Virginia; and saw him this month (December) at Foxwoods in CT two days in row. Foxwoods was another one of those fans moments that are totally dreamlike, on Friday the first night, I received from a “Marc Angel” the drum sticks that Marc used during Jessie Carraballo’s drum solo, I was so happy. On Saturday I once again had the privileged of throwing my Puerto Rican flag on stage and Marc picked it up and placed it on his face. I was beyond happy again another surreal fan moment for me. That was the second time Marc has placed one of my flags on his face, this time is special because I actually have a picture of him with the flag on his face (thank you Maddie). The first time he placed my flag on his face I only have pics of the flag on his microphone; though that flag he autographed for me a year later in 2013. My “Marc Angels” worked overtime because at Foxwoods I sat third row center two days in a row. To add to my delightful Marc year, Marc’s photographer, Carlos Escobar (see his picture below) took a picture of the audience and I am in the the photo holding my flag in my hands and its on MarcAntonyonline.com!!! …#lovemyfanlife :). I sadly have to say that he has not sang “Espera” which is the song I have been dreaming to hear him sing live. I am so happy that the “Black Suit” has been retired; now I have to watch out for those gray blazers 😉 . Marc’s band members are a bunch of class act musicians not only on stage but also off as they are all extremely nice with the fans. I love my Marc road-trips with fellow fans we have so much fun we sing, laugh, and share life stories. It’s amazing thank you all you know who your are. Again I have to say I can’t believe my “Marc Miracles” sometimes and I am the one living them; this is why part of me feels such a responsibility to share as much as I can about my fan experiences because I know so many fans who wish they could have these types of fan moments too.
Marc will be back in the NYC tri-state area in February 2016 after almost nine years he will be “home” at MSG on February 6th, you have no idea how excited I am. Yes I have my ticket ready as I am praying he sings “Preciosa”, because he has only sang it in Puerto Rico all these years. He will also be at Prudential Center on the February 13 and the 14th on Valentine’s Day at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, CT; that is a new venue for him/us so I am so looking forward to seeing him there too. Fans please don’t forget to stop at the Maestro Cares tables to donate.
My 2015 fan experiences was not just about Marc, I have also had the opportunity to see my favorite Urban artist Nicky Jam at the Daddy Yankee concert at Madison Square Garden, my son was with me and it was beautiful to share our #fanlove for Nicky we have been going to see Nicky since 2004. Last year when I started this blog I had mentioned that Nicky Jam was on a serious comeback and my prediction was on point. Nicky Jam has won two Latin Grammys this years and countless of other music awards; has signed with Sony Music and will be headlining his own tour in March 2016 in NYC, Miami and Chicago, needless to say I have already have my ticket to MSG, and how I wish to interview him.
Ricky Martin, Chaynne, Wisin, Jennifer Lopez, La India, Luis Enrique, Grupo Mania, Victor Manuelle, Ivey Queen, Los Hermanos Rosario, Tego Calderon, Vico C, Don Omar, ChocQuib Town, Farruko, Zion and Lennox, are just a few the legendary artists that I have seen in concert this year. Also had the pleasure of attending two sold out comedy shows that comedian Joey Vega had at the Comic Strip NYC this year; he had us crying from laughing so much. Check out his Facebook page Comedian Joey Vega for his latest comedy shows (there is one scheduled for Jan 30th in NJ go to http://joeyvega.ticketleap.com/ ).
My 2015 fan life ended with the Christmas Palooza show at the Bitter End in NYC presented by Chris Apostle, Maria Sebastian, and Cristian Camilo Castro; where some of the best up-and-coming artists once again left me and awe with so much talent such I am so looking forward to all that 2016 will bring.
